 FACILITY REPORT 2026

🏛️ Building & Grounds Committee: 2026 Facility Report

Our committee works diligently behind the scenes to steward our parish campus. Thanks to your continued prayers and financial offerings, we have successfully addressed several critical maintenance, modernizing, and safety upgrades this year.

🔧 Major Heating, Cooling & Energy Upgrades

  • Electrical Updating: The entire electrical system for school, church and parish center was completely reviewed over the last three years and all necessary upgrades were installed to meet modern codes to insure safe operations by staff, parishioners and vendor personnel. Documentation for the entire system is completed.
  • Sanctuary Climate Control: Fully updated our heating/cooling systems, including motor replacement and recharging, to keep our church building cozy for the upcoming winter seasons and cool next summer
  • Gas Line to campus: Brought up to current standards an aging main gas feed line by having a new line installed.
  • Smart Energy Controls: Matched our environmental comfort needs in the Sanctuary by connecting our heating/cooling system to our existing wireless smart thermostats while lowering utility expenses.
  • School Hot Water: Replaced a failing, 19-year-old water heater to guarantee a continuous supply for school and kitchen operations.

🛑 Crucial Structural & Safety Restorations

  • Entrances to Church (Patio and Adoration):  Completely replaced deteriorating, rusted concrete steps with newly reinforced structural concrete to eliminate tripping and falling hazards.
  • Former Church Entrance: Completely replaced deteriorating, rusted concrete steps with new structurally reinforced concrete platform.
  • Campus Sightlines: Removed failing wood fencing and old loading dock next to school to increase visibility, enhance security, establish a safe grade lawn, and secured the furnace exhaust.
  • Asbestos Abatement: Successfully abated the former band/music space to prepare it safely for upcoming library transition.
  • Friendship Hall Windows: Replaced old leaking casement windows in lower level of church with energy and light efficient windows in concert with the Friendship Hall updating.
  • Church Former Boiler Rooms: Completely cleared and recycled all items in these rooms.
  • Retaining wall: Rebuilt the retaining wall at exit of circle drive
  • Handicap Accessible Door Security: Integrated the locking /unlocking of handicap accessible doors into the program which controls the other church doors so that handicap accessible doors unlock/lock in concert with other doors

🏫
School, Gym & Campus Refurbishments

  • Baptismal Font: Completely retiled the entire font, updated plumbing and implemented a water testing process
  • Gym Bleacher Repair: Replaced cracked section wood with premium pine boards, custom edged, stained, and sealed.
  • Worship Sanctuary Care: Remounted and anchored kneeler brackets firmly into place.

·        Window Sills: Re-edged the splintered sills, stained and poly coated to reduce chance of splinters

  • Coaxial Cable Cleanup: Partnered with Spectrum to systematically remove unneeded exterior and interior cables and remove obsolete wiring.
  • Phones: In all buildings removed abandoned phone equipment and wiring so that that there was clear understanding of actuated wiring
  • Master Key Security: Programmed, cross-referenced, and updated room security keys across our facilities to ensure emergency access protocols are completely compliant.
  • Church Meeting Room Chairs: Refurbished chairs in meeting rooms by replacing worn out seat springs with new, strong springs

Keeping Track:

·        Asset Essentials:  To keep track of our numerous assets and their maintenance needs, we implemented software entitled Assets Essentials. A cloud-based Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), it is specifically designed to transition from reactive "break-fix" habits to smarter, proactive maintenance workflows.  All physical assets and the maintenance required are included in the program. The program keeps track of what maintenance has to be done when and will create a message to the responsible person when there is a need. The program keeps a record on what was done when. The program has taken the guess work and indecision out of daily asset actions and replaced them with transparent information.
