Stations of the Cross
March 2021
Opening Prayer:
Begin with the Sign of the Cross.
Pray the Act of Contrition together:
My God, I am sorry for my sins.
In choosing to do wrong, and failing to do good, I
I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more
And to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us.
In his name, my God, have mercy on us.
Amen!
*For smaller children, this prayer works best as an echo: a parent says a line and the child echoes it back.

Catechesis:
The Outdoor Stations of the Cross tell of the events that lead up to Jesus’ crucifixion and death largely taken from the Gospel of Luke. The Outdoor Stations of the Cross allow families to pray and reflect on each station that lead us to Calvary where Jesus died and was buried. The Outdoor Stations of the Cross are a wonderful way to really journey that Via Doloroso and focus on the sacrifice of Jesus for our salvation.
The artwork of each station was done by St. Margaret Mary parishioners.
Activity:
Begin the Outdoor Stations of the Cross at the Parish Office building on Washington Ave. Take a booklet for each member of your family to journey through each station. Return home after the fourteenth station to complete your In Home activity.
- PDF of Family Stations of the Cross Booklet
At the first outdoor station, a paper copy of the Family Bookets will have green cover.
Closing Prayer:
Begin with the Sign of the Cross: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Pray the Our Father together
Challenge:
Submit a picture of your family by your favorite Station. You can email the picture to Amy Bolle at [email protected].
